Above is the link to our awesome video....It is the best video and it was fun making it! My group is so silly! especially zuhay hay (zuhair) :) It is a memory of the junior/ senior basketball game.....except it was changed quite a bit......haha it is as we remember it!:)

Capstone experience

My Capstone experience was better than i expected. I worked really hard and i guess it paid off.
My judge was really impressed which mad me feel happy. I am so happy its finally over......I need to unstress myself:) My overall project was good. My table looked really nice. I made blue ribbons to raise awareness since April is child abuse awareness month. Overall, my experience was great. I am HAPPY its over!!!!

Child abuse and ways to prevent it

• Colors: red, black, more of serious theme since child abuse is a serious topic.
• I want to come up with an organization that helps parents and guardians learn more about children and child abuse so that it will not be a common problem. I want to make a class for adults and children. This class can also help them understand each other better and get along more.
• Production: I am planning to finish this within the next two weeks.

Website Prototype

My home page will include my topic and a bit of information about my website. It will basically help lead the viewer into the main topic which is stopping child abuse.

My research will consist of all the different types of child abusive, facts, symptoms, signs, etc.

My webpage will include useful information and a hotline number as well as the PSA i constructed.

Thinking ahead

I am currently planning on making a pamphlet filled with useful information that will help persuade our communities to help stop child abuse. This pamphlet will also include the address to the website i will be creating along with a hotline number. I researched different websites and found several useful things i could incorporate in my presentation.

POSTER!!!!!

I thought about my ideas and main concept, so i began by gathering pictures that represented child abuse. I ended up deciding to pick out two pictures which basically contrast each other. The main one is basically identifying a sad child that is a victim of abusive behavior. The second one represents two children feeling happy and free. My topic is "Stop Child Abuse". My poster includes those words at the top of the page because it is my main message. I also included at website and a hotline number where people can go to for more information or help. I inserted this at the end of the poster. I also included the three main types of abusive behaviors and i made those stand out a little more to the point where attention is grabbed.

Wikipedia thoughts

The Blackout has turned into a huge discussion. I am a huge fan of Google and Wikipedia. I feel like I rely on it a lot. A lot of people need the internet so people who are against it should try to ban it and instead just stay away from it. Americans would not like to be controlled by the government.

Steps for PSA

I began by preparing my script. Then, my friend Fareen help me with my voice over. I used premier and added pictures i saved to my flashdrive. I also downloaded a song. I used premier to combine everything and i edited all of my stuff. I then saved it and uploaded it to youtube.

PSA Resource Links

This link is an easy way to help get a grip of what we are aiming at. It finished covering the overall of a good PSA. It helped explain how we are to deliver exactly one core message and the clarity we must add to it. I like the fact of how it mentioned we should try to relate the subject to the audience, such as "Imagine if....". I liked how it mentioned that music isn't always the way to go. The announcers voice makes it more interesting. The goal is to motivate the audience to act and deliver the message with clarity.

PSA Intent

My PSA will be 20-30 seconds long. It will use a variety of animated text, music, pictures, and perhaps somebody talking. I liked the idea of the board writing, it honestly caught my attention and kept me interested. Maybe I will  use something like that. I will also make sure that my video addresses my Statement of intent by getting my purpose out there- which is stopping child abuse!!!

Presentation Elements

1. I want to make a resource center where people will learn more about signs and effects child abuse causes.  That way our community will help prevent it.

2. The main thing i want to put out there is the fact that Child abuse is a huge problem in the world and nobody takes it as serious as it needs to be taken. Many people do not know much information about it and maybe that is a main reason why nothing is done.

I will gather pictures and information for my poster. It will show steps that can lead to better children environments.

I probably will be presenting a brochure simply because it is an easy way to access info.

Look and Feel issues

A. My presentation will be completely serious, simply because Child abuse is a very serious problem in the world. Humor could not be interpreted in my PSA.

B. I think I will probably use dark colors showing that child abuse is a dark side and  bright to show that we can brighten up the dark side???? I will bold words that are important so that they will pop out and maybe change the color and effects.

C. My project will be persuasive because it will show the cause and effects of Child abuse and it will explain about abusive behavior. I am looking forward on finding unique ways of making people see the problem and help want to stop it.

D. I will show children and facts about how dangerous child abusive relationship are. I will explain the harmful things it does to children both mentally and physically.

E. I am intending on creating a resource that helps guardians and children learn more about child abuse so they can help stop it.

Thinking ahead on PSA

• I will emphasize awareness,causes, effects, and solutions. 
• I will probably include different pictures and signs. Maybe a clip of something related to child abuse and a short description, me or someone else talking.
• Here are two links for child abuse PSA's: The first link has facts I like. I would like to include that type of information in my psa. And the second one shows a story of a girl. I like how it shows the girl is lonely. Children feel alone and hopeless when they are going through child abuse. People need to realize the signs and learn more about them.

Capstone Project Statement of Intent

1. The goals of my project are to help prevent Child abuse, both physically and mentally. I believe that parents should have more information about how serious and frequent this issue is. Parents, guardians and teachers should be more aware of child abuse and i believe there should be more help out there for children. Child abuse is not taken as serious as it should. It could cause severe physical and mental health for a child, if not death.

2. It is very important for children to feel safe and be safe. Neglecting children may cause severe psychological damages to the child. Physical and mental challenges for children may cause death. Child abuse is rising in our communities and it needs to stop. Nobody should have to go through that danger.

3. I am not fully sure what my career will end up being as I grow up, but I have two thoughts in mind. I want to be a pediatrician or an elementary school teacher. Both of these careers deal with children and adolescents. Child abuse will be part of those careers and I want to be able to make a difference in children's lives.

4. My project will help bring more awareness of this problem and help show people that we are not doing enough to stop child abuse.
